Technical data
RO3 is a modern, three- stage reverse osmosis filter for aquariums, provided with two inline pre-filters and a RO membrane. The whole system was fitted on a mounting plate.
The system provides clean water with a neutral pH and without any other substances. Therefore, it can be used as a base for farming of most of fish species, both in marine and freshwater aquariums.
* osmotically clean water undergoes acidification as a result of CO2 in the air and its pH decreases
The first stage (L-PS) removes from water mechanical contaminants. Sand, rust and other sediments which can be found in it are seized by micropores whose diameter decreases towards its interior. Large particles are intercepted close to the surface, while smaller ones – in deeper layers.
The second stage (L-GAC) removes chlorine and organic substances from water. Due to its porous structure, activated carbon is an excellent filtration material. Chemical substances are adsorbed in pores.
The third stage (RO membrane) is composed of multiple layers of semipermeable, porous membrane. Its pores are large enough to let water penetrate through them, yet small enough to prevent other substances from passing through. This way, it removes microorganisms or even ions from water.
